GEOLOGY FIELD TRIP TO RAINBOW GARDENS AND HOOVER DAM

This field trip will qualify for Personal Development Hours (PDHs) for Certified Environmental Managers.  Number of hours is still to be determined.

Dr. Rowland will lead a field trip on the east side of the Las Vegas Valley to the Great Unconformity and Rainbow Gardens, continuing to the Lake Mead National Recreation Area and Hoover Dam. Steve will point out and explain the origin of his naming a new formation in the Grand Canyon stratigraphic section, exposed at Frenchman Mountain. This has been accepted by the American Stratigraphic Commission.
