Coastal Investigations and Instrumentation of Lake Michigan

Will discuss ongoing research of Lake Michigan.  Tentatively we will meet at Montrose Harbor/Beach to observe bathymetry, Structure from Motion photogrammetry using imagery from unmanned airborne systems/vehicles [UAVs aka ‘drones’] and GPR instruments and possibly demonstrations of same. The Coastal Management Program is also funding a wave-camera array (to be installed on some of the infrastructure there) for us (Andrew Anderson) to do wave studies, which will provide much-needed insights into the mechanisms of geomorphic change.

Probably meet at Montrose Harbor or Beach – time, details to be announced as preparations are finalized.
