Date:  Saturday, March 26, 2022 (postponed from last October)

Event:  Geologic Hike of the White Pines Nature Preserve + bonus field trip

Location:  Starts at the parking lot closest to the confluence of the Rocky and Deep rivers

Cost:  $50 for AEG members, $60 for non-members, $25 for students

Details:   Field trip of the nature preserve 9:00 AM-1:00 PM; lunch on patio at the Carolina Brewing brewpub in Pittsboro (lunch/tea/soft drinks included in registration); bonus field tip after lunch to an old quarry on the shores of Jordan Lake to see andesites and felsic tuffs, and then a short walk to see outcrops of diabase and Triassic sediments

CE credits:  6 hours
