New York- Philly Field Trip- The Geology of the Western Hudson Highlands, New York 

The AEG NY-P Section invites you to register for a full-day geology field trip led by our Student Outreach Chair, Professor Alec Gates of Rutgers University, as part of the NYESTA 2025 multi-day conference. This immersive experience is open for single-day registration and offers a hands-on exploration of key Earth Science topics including Earth’s History, Plate Tectonics, Rocks and Minerals, and Glacially Modified Landforms, all through the lens of the geology of the Western Hudson Highlands. 

• Participants will receive a detailed field guide and enjoy box lunches provided during the day. 
• Most observation points will involve short walks from vehicles, with a moderately strenuous hike planned for the final viewpoint.
